Does Amniotic Fluid Have A Smell. So what does amniotic fluid smell like. 1 It should be odorless or slightly sweet in odoralthough some say it has a bleach-like smell. Bit of a strange one but just wondered as not sure I might be leaking. But I wouldnt think this is what you are experiencing its just more discharge.
Amniotic fluid doesnt have a distinctive odor like urine and its typically clear. It may smell slightly fleshy or like semen. I had to mention to my doc last week because I couldnt tell. Not true to say you will know when your waters break. Amniotic fluid isnt supposed to have a smell to it. It may smell slightly fleshy or like semen. Report as Inappropriate. Few of people assume that its smell is sweater if compared to urine while others pointed out that it is not different from bleach. If it does have a smell or a color it could be a sign of infection.
